About the Artist | ||
JoAnn Z. Keosaian A native of Reading, Pennsylvania, JoAnn spent most of her childhood drawing and painting. While studying art at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, she became interested in three-dimensional work, particularly ceramics and jewelry. After graduation, she taught art for several years before moving to Ann Arbor, Michigan. There, she pursued a career as a graphic designer and later as a technical writer. JoAnn has always maintained an interest in creative activities, including backstage theater work, ballroom dancing, and costume design. It was in pursuit of interesting beads to embroider on a Victorian ball gown that JoAnn first visited a local bead shop. Soon the lure of shiny bright objects led her back to jewelry making. After years of making bead jewelry for herself and friends, JoAnn started Keo Jewelry Designs. Designing for others has given her new inspiration and enabled her to continue pursuing her lifelong fascination with personal adornment. |
